There are several things that can increase your water usage that you may not be
aware of.
1. You could have a leaking toilet or faucet.

• In the home, each person uses about 70 gallons of water a day.
• It takes three gallons to flush a toilet.
• It takes 15 to 30 gallons to take a bath.
• It takes five gallons for a one-minute shower.
• It takes 10 gallons to wash dishes.

5. I need to have my water service shut off to make a repair, can my plumber do that?

No, ONLY Township personnel are allowed to shut water off and turn water on at the curb stop! If a curb stop is inaccessible or broken, it is the homeowners responsibility to contact a plumber to repair but they MUST contact our Utility Billing Department at 651-747-2754 to schedule an appointment to have our Public Works Department turn water on or off!
